Netflix's subscription rental service makes it easy to get nearly any DVD delivered to your doorstep, but have you ever wondered how much you're actually paying per movie or whether you're getting your money's worth?
Web site FeedFlix aims to answer that question. It does so by tapping into Netflix's API and analyzing your usage habits. Once it does so, you can see how much each rental costs you and keep track of the average time you keep your DVDs. If you don't like what you see, FeedFlix can create alerts that will send reminder emails when you've kept a movie for too long. FeedFlix even takes Watch Instantly movies into account to give you a more accurate picture of your viewing habits.
FeedFlix is a great tool to help determine if your Netflix subscription is worth the money you're paying. If it's not, you can save the cash by canceling your account or let FeedFlix help you stay on top of your rentals so you're making the most of your account.
HOw does Netflix work? Do you pay a monthly fee on top of the fee per movie? Wouldn't ordering pay per view be more economical, or is the pay per view selection much more limited?
ReplyDeleteNope, it is just a monthly fee. I pay $16.99 for 3 movies at a time, unlimited. In other words, as soon as I return them, the next movie that is in my queue is sent. Since I watch the 3 movies each week, I am essentially getting 12 movies a month for that price. Since Netflix has amassed a collection of over 100,000 DVDs, I would say that it far surpasses Pay-Per-View in price and selection.
ReplyDeleteYou can add "Friends" so that you can see what they rented and how they rated the DVDs.
There is a feature that allows you to "Watch Instantly" on your PC if that particular movie applies. Not all are available to watch instantly. I don't like watching movies on my PC, but if there is no Preview available, I use it to check out if I will like it or not.
I highly recommend it.
Yes, and I like it too - just like Irish Spring!
ReplyDeleteIrish Spring? Is that like the Irish Tenors? :)
ReplyDeleteUgh, tenors. I don't like tenors, either Irish or the well known "Three Tenors," Carreras, Domingo and Pavarotti. They all seem to be screaming at the top of their lungs.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the Three Tenors will be singing much any time soon. Due to the death of Pavarotti. I think he exploded.
ReplyDeleteOh, your god? Spontaneous combustion?
