I was going to demand that my name be removed from that sickening site, but I found a better way. Not only will I be banned permanently for posting this, but I’m sure that this site will now be one of those, that Websleuths blocks, in a blatant example of censorship. They don’t want you to read differing opinions, heaven forbid that you may find out the truth about them. They have publically stated that you will be banned FOR JOINING ANOTHER FORUM!!!

If you put in a URL to link to another site and that URL comes out blocked or asterisks in place of the URL, that means the site is not allowed to be linked here.
Don't ask people to circumvent that block through any means like typing in new words or linking to a site that links the blocked site.
Just don't link the website at all.
I understand that some of you don't know which sites are ok and which sites are not ok. Sometimes they change. But if it is visibly blocked by way of asterisks in the web address when you post it, there is 100% certainty that it is not allowed here.
Linking to one of these blocked websites is an immediate ban.
So how does one know if they link to a blocked website? By the following annoying method:

There are a couple of sites, the owners of which have sent threatening messages to Tricia saying they will do certain things if their sites are linked to from WS. Some (not all) of these people have criminal records, so Tricia takes these threats seriously. To prevent this from happening, we have set the board up so that if you type the name of the site or try to post a link to it, the name or link will be replaced with the "*" character.
When you preview your post (which I'm sure all of you do first, right?) and you see this happen, THAT should be your clue that you cannot link to that site. Some people have tried to get around this (for the sole purpose of stirring up trouble) by breaking the name/link into 2 parts or using tinyurl or similar services.
R-i-i-i-ght! People with criminal records, who are publically known, will do “certain things” if their website is linked from Websleuths. What a bunch of malarkey! First a police state mentality over there, and now conspiracy theorists!
I’ve been a member of Websleuths since the Laci Peterson case. Things have changed quite a bit since then and the worst part is the censorship and “favored” posters, who you shouldn’t dare say anything about or risk being “timed out.” As one poster put it: “Coming onto WS and bashing Friday is like showing up at a football game and rooting for the other team... not wise.”
Indeed. Friday posted this totally false and misleading information: “Tim Miller wanted to reassure all of you that George has been found in a motel room but was able to be resuscitated.” and “Tim is in Houston, but called me earlier tonight heartbroken, planning to leave for Florida to help search for George. He asks all of you for prayers for George. I have no idea yet if George is still in danger of dying.”
And why? Because she has a compulsion to post anything to get a rise, and the truth be damned. George was in NO danger of dying, not EVER. In fact all he had with him was his blood pressure medication.
So what happened to Friday for lying? A time out? Banned? Nope. But four people who dared to call her on it were given time outs, some for the slightest reason.

So if they were not worthy to be part of the site any more and many of them asked for their posts to be removed. Yet they remain because they contributed to much to certain threads or whatnot. I'm a WS newbie and am frustrated. My links to a well known, respected local newspaper publisher are deleted by WS moderators. I feel they are deleting the links because his views and insider knowledge doesn't match with their own misguided ideas. The publisher I have been quoting is 3 steps ahead of all other media sources, but Ws won't allow until national media makes a statement which is always a week behind. WS doesn't understand that local papers have more indepth contacts with local LE.

Amraan kept telling me to let this person be a moderator. I finally relented based on her positive recommendation and let this person become a moderator at Websleuths. Had it not been for Amraan I would not have let Windchime volunteer. Amraan needs to tell you why she so highly recommended this person to me. I had no reason at the time to doubt her word. Later I fond out about Winchime record but it was old news anyway so I was not too concerned.
Within an hour of finding out about this person's arrest record she was removed banned and I told everyone on Websleuths about this situation.

ReplyDeleteThank God there was a mishap when I tried to join, although I found out the truth later: I am a PAID AOL member and that was the reason for my denial. I wrote back questioning the decision as I had been a member many years ago but had forgotten my password. I actually got a reply back basically saying "ok, you can join".
Something didn't sound right to me so I went searching and found out that they don't like AOL members to be WS members because they CAN'T TRACK YOUR IP ADDRESS. I never clicked on the acceptance link. I'm worried that my personal info is in the hands of a bitch who can write a letter to Ms. Banks like that.
I think the above letter should be printed off and send to law enforcement agencies and victim's advocates around the US.

I just tried joining that site to set some facts straight about a co-worker who is missing but it blindly banned all my e-mail address's (i tried my work,home and my husbands). It gave no reason and when I click to contact the site manager it tries to open up outlook which I don't have set up.

Wow! This is so surreal. I went to WS and attempted to post today. I haven't been in there since May of 2005, only to find out that I have been "banned for life." I sent an email to the administrator to find out why, but after reading this information, I wouldn't go back there if I was being paid to! Somebody shut it down!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been lurking at WS for a few weeks and they all seem like a bunch of unemployed losers or housewives with too much time on their hands. I have repeatedly come across blatent lies and some pretty deplorable accusations. I also realllllly enjoy how they are so sure their opinions are facts. Some of the theories on cases I have read from posters make me laugh, a lot. They over analyze incorrect information or unconfirmed rumors and it all snow balls from there. I haven't and won't try to join the site because if I was actually accepted in the first place I have a feeling I'd be banned pretty quick. There's quite a few people on there that need reminding of their place in society.

They are on a witch hunt against a POI in a missing persons case and had the nerve to let someone post a link to a defamatory blog.
When I complained they informed me it was a "valid" site.
I was banned for pointing out that their "facts" were NOT. And their posts were defamatory. They encourage stalking amongst their members who post the FB profiles of POI and anyone they THINK maybe connected.
When I complained I was told not to worry that the poster shocked and appalled had been ban.
What GREAT "websleuths" I AM that poster.
Interesting that I think the Anonymous above is someone on a specific WS case forum I'm following. It is a missing persons case where there are no official persons of interest as of yet, but there is one specific person who several people feel has been acting suspiciously. A real life friend (I believe sister-in-law) of that "suspicious" person has been trolling the forum from the beginning, slamming everyone they don't like and calling people names. It's very disruptive.
ReplyDeleteThe mods had a pretty good handle on it until a big name, long-time user who gets away with anything because she's friends with some mods showed up on the same case. This big name member of WS got upset because she felt people should be deferring to her on every issue. When people didn't, she started deliberately baiting people into fights, making personal slams, etc. Now the big name member has allied herself with the troll -- and the entire forum is just dying because of it.
It's just kind of interesting that someone who is causing problems and actually being dealt with appropriately for once is complaining that Websleuths sucks. WS sucks when they let their friends run wild, NOT when they actually deal with a disruptive troll properly.
OMG - WS member since Laci & Connor Peterson case. Not a big poster but do read a lot there. With so many great posters banned & so many newbies with NO IDEA of how it is done, it's getting bad! I found this site when I googles "websleuths is ridiculous". It's been comforting to know I'm not the only one. I am a newbie and for that I got into a lot of trouble. I thought we were supposed to debate with facts. . . Apparently, you have to pick the right side. They don't even "welcome" if they realize you have a differing view. But when a 1st time poster agrees with them it's sparkles and emoticons and fireworks welcome! So highschool. Thank you for helping me not to feel like such a loser

I don't care about the boycott, I think CA is guilty but I noticed after months and months that the remarks were vicious and coming from WEBSLEUTHS members.
I started doing research on WEBSLEUTHS, and my search led me here.
I started a thread in the forum called 'THE TRUTH ABOUT WEBSLEUTHS, THE OWNER AND IT'S BLOGGERS"

Then I asked Tricia herself to post that the letter wasn't true, but again she is a no show.

They all simply divert from the topic, which is the TRUTH ABOUT WEBSLEUTHS, ETC.

There is nothing wrong with Websleuths except for those who are incapable or unwilling to follow a few simple rules. Adequate social skills help as well. The fact is, there are more intelligent and conscientious posters there than any other forum I have come across, and I have been posting there for several years. I accidentally came across this blog and am disturbed to see so much anger and bitterness. The fact is, no forum is going to be perfect. And there will always be those who can't stand it if they don't have everything their own way. There will always be those who just don't play well with others, and resort to angry bitterness and these childlike tantrums that are displayed here on this blog. Ok, I've had my say and will now be on my way.

ReplyDeleteWebsleuths is a great place. I been reading and posting there for years and never had a problem with mods at all and don't take rules or the way a person or mod posts personally. Many other forums are filthly talking, make fun of people, Etc. Websleuths is never like that.
ReplyDeleteBoy is that a load of baloney. The Jodi Arias/Travis Alexander threads have been full of vile, vulgar, explicit joking about the deceased and his body parts on a daily basis. In addition to that, anyone on the defense side has been bashed and bullied in regard to appearance and intelligence. Family members of both the deceased and the defendant have been raked over the coals. The posters at Websleuths have been absolutely ruthless.

It's so blatantly clique-ish, and it's obvious that if you don't toe THEIR line, your opinions don't matter. Utterly biased and with its own agenda.

If you suggest anything controversial that gets the "inmates" worked up you get your post deleted. The whole site is run as a Koffee Klatch. DeleteThe mods delete and snip stuff willy nilly. All you have to do is upset one of the crazy folks and they will report your post and stuff gets deleted. If you ask the moderator what happened you are told your post is upsetting somebody. What? This is about crime and death! Posts disappear, folks get put on time out or disappear altogether, It is like in North Korea gulag where folks disappear and history books are rewritten, And the rules constantly changing. ReplyDeleteTwo months ago I had the same experience many of you had with fat Trish the gutter snipe owner of "Websleuths". I started looking into their immaturity issues of the mods and endless bans for DARING to oppose that gelatinous fat blob and then began to ask a few LE associates of mine and they confirmed my suspicions: Websleuths has never directly contributed a dot of shit towards bringing one case to closure and is considered full of pedophiles and weirdos. 3 separate federal officials whom I trust implicitly stated that I shouldn't visit the site or involve myself there the entire site is carefully logged by LE with a warrant. One was also adamant that private messages and member's personal infos were NOT private and in fact get distributed to the lowlife-with-no-life that sit there and attack anyone.
Websleuths has a name for being a place where people take zero facts, and then develop asinine conclusions and suspicions and then they run with it.
Also, I notice that Fat Pat has a habit [seen above] of sock-puppetry but she always gives herself away with a few common grammatical errors and the almost invariable "you need to get a life" statement. Examples of just this can be found anywhere online where the gelatinous fat sow's Websleuths site is disparaged.
I just checked back a day or two ago and found that a new poster who was suggesting now, fresh ideas based upon science and records-keeping had their posts deleted in the usual heavy-heavy-fat-cow handed way that Tricia has made a name for herself for doing.
I was told in no uncertain terms by the police I discreetly talk to regarding a particular case that further participation on that Websleuths scumbag site could result in my being locked out from further insider info. This is something I cannot afford, and the way they treat people there made it easy to accept and understand.
My client also looked up their reputation and forbid contact with such a nasty feces hole of a site.

Anyone who is wronged by this crew should simply write to her advertisers and add some links to the posts online that describe the tactics there. Make sure you warn them about Fat Pat's vindictiveness so they know to cite benign reasons. Otherwise as everyone has seen she will send her mentally-challenged welfare "crew" after them. Worse, Patricia will shoot her fat cunt off at them too to defend her cretinous ways.

I used to chime in on some of the C.Anthony issues of the day, but the moment I gathered conscience and accurate information pertaining to this debacle of the computer searches, they did not want to hear about it. Their IT people know absolutely nothing except how to bait. A person using a computer or especially Facebook can log on miles away from their actual place of the computer, but try and tell that to them who know nothing - They also did not want to hear about how the so called Ohio pics of C.A. surfaced...With a bit of investigation it was not hard at all to pin point exactly who the culprit was who sold the pics to TMZ- it was a media corp., who was thisclose to that family. I still cannot believe they still try and come up with their type of Karma for that case. It has been over for 3 years, but the rollerball continues. They will never accept the fact that their words will NEVER be heard to try and get that case under the gun again or any others for that matter. If this WB was so great, how come they don't have a Reality Show of their own?

For the love of Ivy and Simon Barrett! I thought they finally went out of business. Websleuths is a huge mothball driven klatch of women who have absolutely nothing else to do than be in someone else's business. ReplyDeleteI was active on the Dermond case on WS the middle of this year. A case that is hopelessly stalled. I suggested a scenario of accidental death which checked all the boxes for the circumstances of Russels decapitation and Shirleys drowning. I was immediately pounced by a bully on the site whining about my theory. So what happens is i get censored for agitating (the inmates). No kidding. Somebody whines and you get censored. Nothing i stated violated any TOS. So after that, i go to the MH-370 thread and state that something "arguably" could have occurred a certain way during the crash. Now some nut head challenges me to cite facts for my opinion. The moderator reacts same way citing TOS, and i should have said opinion instead of opinion. So i add to my signature line that these are my opinions and the use of words like arguably are not an invitation to engage in endless debates. Now i am censored again, reaso agitating the inmates. I finally said "i am outta here" knowing that is number one TOS violation because you cannot give the inmates any idea that they too can escape the asylum. So i gladly accepted my walking papers from nurse ratchett.

ReplyDeleteI am blown away by the energy that goes into hating WS. Why does anyone care? If you don't like it go post somewhere else or open your own forum and run it the way you want. People have been bitching and moaning about WS for years and years and it hasn't changed a thing, they keep growing like a weed and thats because it's a great forum, despite some of the bs.That's unavoidable when you have such an enormous volume of anonymous people all sharing their ideas. I was a moderator at WS once upon a time. I left because RL took over. So many things have been said that are untrue it's rediculous. Mods can't read PM's. Absolutely cannot read them. The software (when I was there at least) did not support any such feature, not even for the admins that did the technical stuff. What happened alot was other posters would fwd PM's they got to the mods so a ton of "undergroud" plots to cause trouble would be nixed before they started. TG was hardly involved. Usually if she's repramanding someone it's because people ran to her tattling, TG would take them at face value and go on the attack. It looked like she knew what was going on but she really never had any idea. Do I like her? I'm not crazy about her but I don't hate her. I think she has some very serious issues that are nothing to laugh at and have hurt alot of people. Like a gambling addiction. That's just my opinion, I don't know that for a fact. The mods work hard and long hours and for free. It's not uncommon to get 5 - 20+ PM's in an hour, everyone whining because no one can get along. You try your best to be fair, sometimes you fail. It's tough babysitting a few hundred adults. All the rules are in place for a reason. And somethings usually happened to make it in place. No one was ever banned for joining another forum. Again, what would happen is their private PM's or similar would be sent to mods or Tricia and if they were threatning to "take down" WS or that sort of thing, then yes, they'd be banned. Why would anyone want that? I would do time outs but that's because someone would be asked over and over agian, usually in a PM to knock it off because they were derailing the thread in some way and if they wouldn't stop, then time out it was. Considering how much would be going on at one time, it was just easier that way. It wasn't "punishment", at least not for me. Was every mod perfect? No. One was a real headcase. Angry lady who was jealous of any mod that had a "popular" thread or if she co-moderated. She was alot of what pepole are saying here but she was fired. I would have joined JQ but couldn't take the language and constant NON STOP whining about WS. It wasn't easy but it could be fun. The worst for me was constantly having posted wanting me to time out or ban other posters. The contant bickering. I mean non-stop 24/7 bickering, much like I'm reading here. No matter what you did, you were going to be the bad guy. I usually liked all the posters no matter what side they were on, I didn't favor anyone even if I did enjoy some peoples comments and attitudes better then others. What made me llaugh ALL THE TIME was all the posters who said they were banned for no reason. I could read the banning threads and I never saw anyone banned for no reason. So if someone tells you that, know their lying. You had to be a real A hole to get banned back in my day. So all of you who just go on and on day after day, week after week, month after month and now year after year, none of your complaining has made a dent in WS. They don't care. Like I already said use that energy to create what you want, the way you want it. Being angry and bitter is like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies.

Deletei have never had a bad encounter with TG however a lot of people are really rude there if you post a different idea than them, a lot of threads degenerate into back and forth arguments about things that really don't even relate to the case. i have had people reply to me that an idea i have had about a case had already been brought up and my opinion was not right, yet after searching and searching i find no prior mention of my theory. i think some people just say its already been discussed because it is a differing opinion from their own and sounds more cogent than their idea.

DeleteWebsleuths used to be a wonderful place for people to try to help and figure out responsible parties for murders and where missing people could be. More recently, Trisha's success with the radio show and website has resulted in arrogance and mis-use of power. The moderators of the site used to have respect and common courtesy for their members while they enforced terms of service (TOS) for legal reasons. Now, moderators act like hall monitors, using the perceived power they have over the forums to be punitive, hostile and disrespectful of their users. Going online to WS is like asking for an adrenaline rush as users are accused of and punished for perceived violations of TOS by the mods. You will find emails in your personal email inbox from mods attacking, flaming and accusing you of doing something wrong, as if being a member makes you part of a cult where you relinquish your right to respect and common courtesy. They "yell" at users like angry camp counselors and think their power to put a user a "time out", like a child, gives them the right to be rude and disrespectful, accosting and punishing their members if they step out of line. Meanwhile, what is considered out of bounds for discussion is vague and unclear, setting up their members to enter forbidden territory, and using it as an opportunity to attack them. It's extra negativity that any healthy adult doesn't need added to their lives.

JUST an FYI....I was on the phone with her via a 3 way call the night George Anthony pretended suicide.
The 3 of us were looking up flight info and gossiping while Tim kept getting calls from people in Anthonys camp... plus Tim was drunk and could not fly out but kept lying and telling everyone he was practically out the door in route to Florida. I posted these live updates on my myspace blog.
You might note that Tricia is being sued and accused of having a gambling addiction as well as defrauding members out of thousands of dollars. One poor member named MICHAEL is now out just over $100k

Now it is nothing but people with no lives (not all but most) who post pages and pages of worthless comments and people with SENSE get banned! I recently emailed them and told them to delete me since I saw no option to.. You are all so spot on!!!!

I was banned from WS for disagreeing with posters on the Dylan Redwine case. Several people were baited by long-standing members, and if any of them reacted, they were banned. This is what happened to me. They have their pets over there, and if you disagree with those pets, you get the shaft.
ReplyDeleteAlso, IMO, no immediate family member should be allowed to post on that forum, especially the mother of a missing child, the ex-wife of the "accused", or even close friends of these people. That's where the moderation comes in, because you're not allowed to state a differing opinion.
That is the strangest website ever, they will fall one day no doubt.
ReplyDeleteI've had a little too much down time from work in the last few months and have spent more time than ever on WS. I've noticed on more than one thread that I've followed that comments are deleted if they don't follow the narrative being promoted. They are not offensive comments, nor have they violated TOS. The reasons given by mods are based on the arbitrary rules they laid down on at least one of the topics...except they don't delete comments of some posters for breaking these same rules so long as they support the right side. It's Orwellian to see facts, linked to msm and some court docs, be deleted because we are supposed to pretend those facts don't exist.
ReplyDeleteI thought it must be these mods or these cases. After googling "websleuth moderators" to see if it was just me, I can now tell it's been going on the whole time. I'm usually skimming or playing catch up so I've never seen this kind of truth distortion in real time.
