Sorry, but I don't think that the amount of vitriol being displayed towards the cop is warranted. He made an error in judgement, yes, but they ran a red light and didn't stop for him initially.
If I had been Ryan, trying to get my wife to see her mother on her deathbed, I would have done the same thing. Dallas cops are known for being a bit arrogant. In my humble opinion, the cop is a bona fide jerk.
